Who I am

I am passionate in promoting and practicing self compassion and
mindfulness, and thoroughly enjoy helping others on their own
self-care journey!

Massage Career
I spent the first two decades of my life in Louisiana where I received my bachelors in psychology from the University of Louisiana at
Lafayette. While there, I received my first massage from a friend and was awaken to the transformation it provided to me!

After graduating from UL in 1996, I moved to the Pacific NW and immediately began massage therapy training at East/West College
for the Healing Arts. I was then grateful to have my first experience offering massage to guests at a local bed & breakfast called East West college of the Healing Arts. I was then grateful to have my first *business opportunity* offering massage to guests at a hair saloon, and then my private practice in collaboration with Astoria Chiropractic for many years. In 2012, I switched gears and began graduate school and finished with my masters in clinical rehabilitation counseling and have worked as a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oregon since 2020 (Lic. #C5774). I paused massage during this time, then reactivated my massage therapy license in 2023 (Lic. #6832).

Life
I identify as a white, sex positive, cis woman. I live in the Pacific Northwest with my two poodle/Jack Russell terrier mixed pups, and my
two wonderful adult children. Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including
hiking, live music, tandem biking and gardening. I love visiting local museums and galleries and am an avid reader. I also love making and glazing ceramics.
In my free time, volunteer with the Portland Art Museum to promote equity and elevate
the voices of the disabled community.

I am a strong ally to black, indigenous, and other people of color.
Especially those with disabilities, LGBTQ, and gender non-conforming
people.
